Insurance Services Office (ISO) Rating
The Pinewood Springs Fire Protection District (PSFPD) currently has an ISO rating of 3 for all properties within the District or within five miles of the Pinewood Springs Fire Protection District’s station, located at 61 Kiowa Rd. Lyons, CO 80540.

PSFPD is a tax based Special District comprising parts of Larimer County and Boulder County, and is staffed by 20 all-volunteer firefighters and fire-medics. Administrative and technical support is provided by an additional 6 volunteers. The District is governed by an all-volunteer Board of Directors made up of five members. Regular and specialized training provides for required certifications and maintenance of same. PSFPD provides and receives Mutual Aid to and from neighboring agencies, including Lyons Fire Protection District, Hygiene Fire Protection District, Volunteer Fire Department of Big Elk, Estes Valley Fire Protection District and Allenspark Fire Protection District. Services include structural firefighting, vehicle firefighting, wildland firefighting, hazardous materials mitigation, vehicle accident response, and general medical response, PSFPD is dispatched by Boulder County Communications Center by pager and radio, and ambulance service to the District is provided primarily by Estes Park Health Ambulance, with eastern district overlap by American Medical Response and Lyons FD ambulance. Firefighting water sources are from a limited number of fire hydrants within the Pinewood Springs area, including a lake fed dry hydrant, distributed cisterns, the Little Thompson River, and automatically dispatched mutual aid water tenders (tankers) from neighboring fire districts/departments.
